Barringer's Restaurant - Fish Creek

1) The carrot cake was simply dropped off at our outdoor table in a box—just the cake, no presentation or anything. 2) We had to get our own plastic utensils and water, which was fine, but still unusual. 3) We waited at least 8-10 minutes for our coffee and thought they were brewing a fresh pot. Turns out, the server just forgot about us. 4) When the coffee finally arrived, we had to wait again for cream. 5) After another wait, I went inside to grab the cream from a staff member who was on his way to our table, but it turned out to be sweetened cream. 6) My husband went in and asked for regular cream. The kid at the counter initially said they didn’t have it, but my husband insisted they did, and he brought it out after checking. 7) My husband also requested iced water at the bar, and was directed to the side of the patio. He reiterated his request for ice and finally got it. 8) All of this added up to $16. 9) There were no refills on the coffee offered during our visit. Overall, we were unimpressed and decided to leave. They can keep their fancy dinners with white tablecloths. Perhaps when they start to focus more on customer service and the people they serve, we might consider returning. I don’t want to blame the young staff member too harshly—he may be the owner's son—but maybe he should spend less time on his phone.

We had a positively delightful lunch at Barringer?s! We were able to order our food at the walk-up window and eat outside in a shady spot on the patio. Perfect weather and setting for a leisurely meal. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

We had an amazing experience as always! The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Shawn, the bartender, is incredibly skilled at mixing drinks and truly makes you feel at home. This has become our favorite place to visit whenever we're in DC!

I dined on a Sunday evening and had made a reservation, which turned out to be a good choice as we were the only customers in the dining room. The food was enjoyable, and the service was friendly and reasonably quick. However, I deducted one star because the open doorway allowed flies to come inside, which detracted from the overall dining experience as I found myself constantly swatting them away.

Food was good though they overcooked my steak (the waitress offered for it to be redone). Sides are large. The truffle aioli fries were fantastic. Large drink menu.
