The Pumphouse Hotel - Fitzroy

I had been eagerly anticipating dining at this restaurant for a while, but I was completely disappointed and unsure if I will return. The meal was very mediocre, especially the meat dish which seemed poorly executed and possibly pre-made days before. The wine list was extremely overpriced and unimpressive. My friends were also not impressed. Ultimately, there are many other superior dining options in Melbourne in my opinion. Make your own judgement, but I will likely choose to dine elsewhere in the future.

I almost left a great review for another restaurant because of the common name. However, I must say that the steak I ordered at this restaurant was outstanding and definitely worth the price. It was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. My dining companion was envious of my dish, but they also mentioned that their pork cutlet was exceptional.

This was a great find for lunch. A friendly welcome and interesting menu. Ordering was easy in a quiet and unhurried atmosphere and when I realised that I was in danger of being late for a meeting moving things along was handled nicely and effectively The cevapcici were succulent and delicious on a capsicum sauce, the mushroom linguini and the confit duck leg with risotto were both great and the accompanying nebbiolo went down well.

Friendly helpful staff and good food. V cost. Other customers also obviously comfortable as people stayed a long time!

Always enjoy coming back here whenever we can. Feels welcoming but still smart and neat. Good quality food, worth paying a premium for versus regular pub fare.
