I've shared a ruck chicken meal with my husband. huh was very tasteful, white rice was a little dry (they had not yellow,) and mac and cheese was honestly special. I would probably come back, regardless of it. we ordered a piece of carrot cake that a Jamaican takes. American carrot cake is my favorite dessert and that was different, but very good. it really enjoyed and it is worth trying if it is not yet. 4 stars because the pepsi i ordered (in a bottle) expired a month ago. it tasted ok (I didn't notice until after our departure,) but it's just that it wasn't checked because the drinks in the refrigerator are the only options they have. only critique is to check their drink data before they sell to customers.
Really enjoyed Island Flavaz. Cute little place on the ocean which is somewhat commensurate with the prices you pay, though they are a bit high comparatively to other restaurants if judging by food alone. But how many Jamaican restaurants are in this area on the oceanfront? We ordered a mild and a spicy beef patty both were really tasty. I split a jerk chicken meal with my husband. Chicken was very flavorful, white rice was a little dry (they didn't have yellow), and Mac and cheese was honestly special. I'd probably come back for a side of that regardless. We ordered a slice of carrot cake which is a Jamaican take on it. I came in here and ate last year while driving down the A1A. I decided that I needed to make a pit stop, so I got a little bite to eat hereThe food was okay but a little bland. It was very hot (temperature), which is certainly a positive. In fact, one of the plantains burned my mouth. The service was great. The waitress had a thick accent and was very accommodating. They were a little pricey from what I remember though. The atmosphere was pretty cozy. It felt like a little coffee shop.Overall, not bad. I would probably eat somewhere else though given that situation again though. But the service was good and the food was good so what more could you ask for?
What a delightful spot! We loved our curried chicken and jerk wings.
Bad attitude. Made it feel that we were begging them to buy food from them. The younger staff was very unprofessional.
