Here we go. The sign out front said Fresh Shrimp Fish and Scallops right. If I get sick this post will Change!! So the sushi I had 3 different rolls and I have eaten my fair share of sushi so I should know what the spider roll looks like .. yeah and the rainbow roll and even the dragon roll but no I thought we got the wrong order but no we were of 2 other people setting in the restaurant. Do you see what I'm putting down .. the people/ owners very nice..... BUT very nice by itself doesn't keep the doors open. Bottom line the fish was from what I saw up front Not frozen but fresh cut just old if that makes sense. Service was soso but being in the industry before I still left 20% Just too many things to rant about and I'm not going to probably little stuff like bar was cluttered with water bottles sanitation bucket a rag on bar even the waitress apologizing to the people sitting beside us about getting their order wrong with ONLY 3 other people total in restaurant.. But the vendors outside awesome!!
I have tried on 4-5 occasions to order something that was outstanding. I have tried sushi, grab n go, and even a catch of the day sandwhich (which was very small, tasteless and served on a bun that became soggy before I could get it home). ALways disappointed. There seems to always be confusion and excuses for sub par food. In my opinion move on to the next choice of places to eat!! This place has lost my friends and families business.
Uncaged is open and running Thursday-Sunday, we enjoyed one if the specials: swordfish with chimichurri, as well as some sushi. The restaurant seems a little split personality with a nod to wine country with speciality cheeses, a nice wine collection, and charcuterie along with a GREAT seafood menu, including cioppini and chowder, fresh catch and shell fish AND a full sushi menu that does not disappoint! We enjoyed best desserts we've ever had: coconut cheesecake and warm brownie with pecans. The service was warm and friendly. And the Saturday night we were there, there was a band. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to comply with social distancing.
The serving size was very small and the price was very high. I won't be going back. It also took us at least 30 minutes just to get the appetizer and another 20 minutes for the entree.
