During our skiing trip we wanted a real local experience, and Diltut was exactly what we wished for. A very small cosy restaurant. If you don’t know its there, you’ll never notice it. The restaurant was full (around 8 tables) and we ordered the typical...dishes. As I am a vegetarian, there were plenty of (traditional) veggie options! We took a plate of traditional sliced meat (not for me off course), a Gerstesuppe, a salad, Kapuns (a sort of gnocchi wrapped in wineleaves) and Maluns (baked patatoe pieces with cheese and apple). We topped it of with a great desert (mascarpone with strawberries and a chocolat tart). We drank some gluhwein and a beer. It all tasted really good, and we had to pay 95 swiss franks which is very reasonable. The staff was very friendly. We definately recommend it for a true Graubunden eating-experience. PS Our neighbours had cheese fondue which also smelled great!
Super Cheese centric (Fondue) Restaurant, tucked down the back streets of Flims, an essential Restaurant to visit if in Flims LAAX (assuming you like Fondue). Make sure you check out the Capuns (Chard pasta like Rolls) as a starter, they are an amazing local Graubünden...dish, not to be missed.
Me and my wife just wanted to have an appropriate fondue while visiting Switzerland. We got much more. We came in the early afternoon: no guests at all. Just the service lady (owner? who was preparing the place for the evening guests. The menu is...very short but still to long for somebody who wants to try everything of the Swiss specialties. No problem at all: the lady prepared especially for us a short course of everything that is Graubuenden trade mark. Capuns, maluns and Salsiz were included in the fine and small portions. Just delicious. And as a final act we got the fondue. My personal discovery was apple that was a part of the celebration (besides bread never tried it before in a combination with a cheese bath. Sweet and dry fits together! Warning for the families: no kids menu at Diltut. You have to feed your offspring before. Still I can recommend the place to anybody who appreciates fine food and friendly family atmosphere.
