La Scarpetta - Florence

From the online reviews, I anticipated we had found a local gem. I was a bit shocked to walk in and find plywood walls. The food was pretty good, but the lack of ambiance was a real buzz kill.

It was perfect for our family of 7 persons, with children, parents and grandparents. They were also willing to modify a dish to accommodate allergies. We will be back again very soon!

Great find! Go here !! We found this after reading a review, and it was close to the apartment we were staying at. We made a reservation and were quickly seated. We had boar ragu, seafood pasta and mozzarella bread appetizers. Our server Gabriel was friendly and helpful. Recommending a wine from close to Livorno. We had Limoncello that was wonderful compliments of the house. Everything was so good we returned two nights later to enjoy again. We had the octopus with potatoes for an appetizer this time and it was outstanding, I had the porcini mushroom pasta. Yum. Locals were eating here, so you know it was good and not touristy. Compliments to our server Gabriel and his father this Chef!! Wish we could go again.
