Beautiful hometown country store with great music. (I primarily go on Thursdays for the Texas Roadhouse, but they often have Bluegrass on the weekends. They also offer dance lessons and I think music lessons (or you can find them on the flyer board by the bathrooms .Their healthy/wholesome food choices, desserts, and old time candy selection are reminiscent of a time when family and community were central to everyday life.If you're looking for some old-time, slow paced, wholesome family fun with a community full of inclusion and acceptance... THIS is the place to go.Floyd, in general, is full of small businesses, artisans, and local goodness. Not a tourist trap bougie kind of town, more like a throw back to another time where you sit on the front porch with the old folks and let their wisdom sink in deep... but filled with modern knowledge, skills, and country craftsmanship.
What a delight! It is like coming home : healthy food, nice store, top music and welcoming people!!
Floyd country store is worth the trip to Floyd VA alone. Just to be able to experience the music is a joy. The people hear are extremely nice and the food is great. Love the biscuits and gravy ?. Just look up their website to see their schedule for upcoming events. Usually every weekend. This is our second trip with friends and we weren't disappointed at all. Already planning another trip from South Carolina. The town is pretty nice and well worth the trip. Special thanks to all the Musicians who come and play here so we can enjoy your music. Can't wait for our return trip ?.
This is the heart of downtown Floyd, VA... restaurant, soda fountain and adorable country store. We experienced the joy of all three during our weekend visit grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch hit the spot (with baked goods to go), ice cream and root beer float was the evening treat and then we (been there, done that) bought the t shirt in the store. The Friday night jamboree was a fun scene to watch, and we enjoyed the independent jam bands on the street as well. Very cool vibe! Love supporting local.
