I have dined at Olive bb.q locations all across the USA and in Korea, and the chicken served at these two Queens locations does not meet the same standards. The chicken is soggy, sticky, and smothered in wet sauce, whereas other locations have crispy, flavorful chicken with sauce that appears to be baked on after frying. The chicken at the Flushing and Astoria locations owned by these franchisees resembles soggy fried chicken drenched in ketchup or barbecue sauce, rather than the crispy and sweet chicken found at other Olive bb.q locations. It is a disappointing experience for those familiar with the brand's offerings. I suggest visiting the Manhattan K Town location, where the chicken is prepared correctly and is objectively better than the chicken served at the Queens locations.
I reviewed this place before as 5 stars. It seemed to have reopened again and im so happy it did. I've been missing their olive chicken wings and waffle fries. They changed the fries to normal fries and it dosent taste good. Mad for chicken is opposite of them and they also have similar fries but tastes 100x better so I would suggest taking some notes from there. The quantity of thr wings also changed but price increased. 8 wings for $16 and just few months ago before you'd get 10 for less. The chicken still tastes the same, except it's not as crunchy.
This was my first time trying BBQ chicken, as I usually go to MFC or Partea. I decided to order the soy garlic wings only. The sauce and crispiness were good, but the chicken was a little dry and lacked meat. The wings were very small and didn't have much meat on them.
This was my second order since it opened... Compared to before, the quantity has decreased and the price has risen a lot! The taste is just worth eating.I was disappointed because the size of the chicken was really small.
I know that holiday season its busy but every other restaurant is busy. We called multiple times thinking if they are closed or not picking up the phone on purpose, but ended up not taking up the phone on purpose. The worker who picked up the phone at the end was complaining to me saying i should not call multiple times if they are busy. I was so shocked to hear this from a newly renovated store and how rude the worker was. This place used to have those problems so no disappointment but whoever the owner should train the workers on how to accept orders in smarter way. Pelicana or other places does better than this. SO RUDE.
