We got our fresh out of the oven, so it was nice and warm. Crust was dizzy. It was perfect! Bakery is only cash. The room is small, but the ladies in the front work fast. Easy to find next to Coco Tea Juice. I still dream about it today.
This place has THE BEST Ei tarts in NYC. It is particularly good if they take it directly from the oven, but regardless of whether it is hot or cold, it is absolutely delicious. The crispy crust is also just amazingly flocky and buttery. It's a bit more expensive than other places, but it's worth it! Your Portuguese egg tart is best, but definitely try the other flavors!
We got the 4 kinds of tarts: Portuguese, Cheese, Green Tea, and Coconut Tart. Cheese tasted like a soupy cheesecake. Green tea was liquidy/didn't like it. Coconut was crumbly. The best one was the Portuguese egg custard tart. It was delicious.
Nothing beats FRESH EGG TARTS in Flushing NYC at New Flushing Bakery (right next to Got the hk style one and Portuguese one station. Must wait about 15 minutes for the Portuguese as they just come out of the oven The pastry was super crispy and fluffy, even on the bottom of the tar. And as you can see, the Custard was beautiful and ugly, light as a feather, but so creamy egg loved every single bite, although I am sure that I burned the roof of my mouth (which is new @midwestmunching
This place has the best Portuguese Egg Custard Tarts. Their regular egg-cutard tarts are also delicious. The bowl is beautiful and flocky and perfectly crispy and its filling is... the staff is very nice too.... the Cantonese lady Cindy is quite nice and so is the Taiwanese lady. There are two other people who also turn... who are pretty nice. Her lotus seed egg yolk snack is also delicious. Only the correct amount of crabs and filling is not too sweet. Very recommended. My friend also liked her red bean version, but I'm not a big fan of red beans, so I didn't try. Looollll... but the others... definitely worth a try!
