We split a Caesar salad which had nicely prepared and freshly cooked chicken. The dressing was mayonnaise-based which was a little different than we had anticipated. The presentation was very nice. I had the lasagna which was excellent. I ate every bit of it. My wife had the chicken cordon blue which was so dry and then she only ate a third of her helping. Not good. Clearly not what one would’ve expected from a Michelin one star kitchen. There were only two people in the restaurant and one was having a multicourse gastronomic meal. Having both the more formal restaurant and less formal restaurant seated together didn’t work all that well. The wine selection was excellent as Giovanni made the selection personally. The tables were set beautifully as its shares space with the gastronomic restaurant. We might return to this restaurant… And we might not.
This is the Brasserie linked to the same kitchen as the Michelin starred La Corte restaurant in the Hotel Villa Abazzia in Follina. The brasseries offers a small, yet wonderful, selection of simple dishes including seasonal vegetable tempura, home made breads, Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagna and Roast Chicken. It also offers the same Michelin starred Tiramisu that is made to a secret family recipe dating back to 1955. It 's best described as wow. The staff were friendly and the food excellent we thoroughly recommend stopping here for dinner or lunch if you find yourself in Follina.
We saw a fabtastic review about this place in Conde Nast and decided to have a lunch. The food was fantastic, very Italian, elegantly served, and the owners were so firendly. Their wine carte has over 300 wines, and the desserts were stunning.
This place has the best Tiramisu! It's worth a visit just for the Tiramisu! I can highly recommend to visit La Cantinetta for its great food, genuine location and relaxed atmosphere!
My husband and I were driving on the road From Vittorio Veneto to Valdobbiadene, en route to the Prosecco vineyards and happened by chance on a quaint and charming restaurant in Follina named La Cantinetta. Although the patio was spacious and inviting, we elected to have lunch indoors in the dining area. The room was very charming and we were were warmly welcomed by a lovely hostess/server by the name of Mary Jo. She really made us feel at home and walked us through the menu selections. She did an excellent job although I'm sure there weren't many menu choices that weren't top notch. My husband and I elected to have the tempura garden vegetables as an appetizer and they were outstanding. The vegetables were fresh and the batter was light and tasty. They were so light that they didn't taste deep fried at all. I had a pasta dish, tortelli al caciocavallo which was marvellous. Light pockets of cheese filled pasta in a delicate cream sauce. My husband had the lasagna which was most delicious. It was flavourful, the pasta was homemade and very light, and the meat sauce was a work of art; bursting with flavour and delicately spiced to perfection. The tiramisu which topped off our meal was exquisite. The recipe is a family one which has been around for 60 years! Leave room for dessert at this meal. The service was attentive and very courteous without being overbearing. I can't wait until my next visit to Italy. I will definitely drive to Follina for another unforgettable meal.
