Rubio's Coastal Grill - Folsom

Last-minute decision led me to this restaurant where I ordered chicken taquitos, a bean and cheese burrito, and three steak street tacos with beans and chips. I ended up spending $32, and unfortunately, the street tacos were really disappointing. I’m not sure what went wrong, but they had a bad taste, the meat was excessively chewy, and the corn tortillas were terrible. The chicken in the taquitos was mushy and didn’t taste like chicken at all. The chips were stale as well. On a positive note, I did enjoy the bean burrito, although I expected a regular size and received an enormous $8 basic bean and cheese burrito instead. I wish I had better things to say about this experience. Even the table where I waited for my takeout was sticky! Honestly, if you’re going to charge $14 for three street tacos and a small container of beans, the quality of the food needs to be much better.

I’ve been enjoying fish tacos at Rubio's for years, but my experience on July 14, 2022, at 12:15 PM was a huge disappointment. I ordered three fish tacos to go, and what I received was unbelievable! The tacos had a dark brown, overly crunchy, greasy crust with barely any fish—if any at all. They were hard and cold. If I had eaten in the restaurant, I would have asked for a refund and never returned! I can't emphasize enough how terrible the fish was. It's disappointing to see Rubio's join the ranks of so many other restaurants that seem to have lost their touch. Good luck moving forward!

I went to dinner at Rubios on a Friday night at 5 o'clock and ordered the original fish taco plates. Unfortunately, we couldn’t even eat them—the batter on the fish was incredibly thick, hard, and cold, making it impossible to bite into. The rice served with the meal was crunchy and undercooked as well. Additionally, all the tables were dirty, with spilled salsa and salt everywhere. I used to love Rubios, but I won’t be returning to this location.

DIABETICS GET YOUR OWN DRINK I ordered online to save time and decided to have the drink filled when I got there. I arrived quickly and my order wasn't finished which is okay. I watched the girl fill my drink with regular coke and she marked it asdiet coke. Good thing I saw! I approached her and requested a new cup and she asked why. I told her that I wanted diet coke andshe said it was. I told her I watched her put regular coke in. The regular and diet cokes are at opposite sides of the drinkmachine so there was no mistaking what i saw. I informed her that I'm diabetic and filling a drink with regular soda when thecustomer asked for diet can have severe health consequences and she seemed to not care. She didn't even give me a new cup. I hadto dump out this one and fill it with diet. I wasn't the only one to have to do that while I was in there. Please train youremployees better. I've watched mistakes like this land people in the er.

Rubio's offers fresh and delicious food at a great price. I ordered the Mahi Mahi taco plate, and the fish was cooked to perfection. The tacos were amazing! I'm looking forward to trying more items from their menu.
