THEN, I made an error on my credit card that the bank told me had to be resolved by the restaurant. $10 error; after multiple calls, they offered me a pickle ... a $25 gift certificate. That was 3 weeks ago. Still hasn 't come. What a shame!
Glad to have a new seafood restaurant in town but this one is definitely not worth price!!!!!! $32 for a lunch entree of blackened yellowtail filet without any sides is expensive....not to mention the $16 side of asparagus!!!!!! No need to say anymore...totally overpriced!!!!!!!
Ate at this restaurant two times and both times food came out COLD, not warm, COLD... for the price of the food, I would think that they could get it right...Ordered coffee, which arrived well after we finished our dessert.. Two strikes and you're out.
You'll soon understand why The Oceanaire has been recognized as one of the best seafood restaurants in the country. The Oceanaire Seafood Room is where exceptional seafood meets exceptional service, as stated on their website. Over the past ten years, we've dined at four different Oceanaire locations across the country. When we relocated from San Antonio, one of our biggest hopes was to find great seafood without having to board a plane. Not long after we arrived, we were excited to learn that Oceanaire was opening in Mary Brickell Village. Since its opening, we've become regulars, visiting at least a couple of times each week. The experience was fantastic, offering the best seafood in Miami. It became our go-to place for casual dinners or special occasions with friends, and we happily spent hundreds of dollars there. We also recommended it to any family or friends visiting Miami. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm has come to an end. The quality of the food has drastically declined, now serving mediocre fried options reminiscent of Landry's Seafood House, Red Lobster, or Joe's Crab Shack—places we would only visit every few months. The seafood quality is noticeably poorer, and the preparation has shifted to unhealthy, greasy frying methods. Gone are the healthy side dishes we once enjoyed. It seems the food is pre-prepared and then microwaved for serving, rather than being freshly cooked for diners. What a disappointing turn of events!
When traveling for business and dining alone, it can often be an unpleasant experience, especially when restaurants tend to make single women feel unwelcome. However, I dislike eating at the same hotel every night, so I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Oceanaire. The staff made me feel completely at ease, seating me at a lovely corner table that allowed me to enjoy my meal without feeling out of place. My head waiter, Carlos, was exceptionally courteous and professional; if he was bothered by my being a solo diner, he didn't let it show at all. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any businesswoman staying in downtown Miami. Oh, and I almost forgot— the food was fantastic!
