La Fattoria Del Boschetto

I stayed at the Fattoria del Boschetto because I was speaking at the nearby Labirinto della Masone. The B&B is very nice. Rooms are comfortable and the shower was hot and strong. Outside is rural Italy, with rabbits in the field, geese around the barn accross the road and several peacocks on the premises. The food was excellent. After a platter with ham and cheese as an aperitif, we had dinner with pumpkin lasagna (stunning) for starters and perfectly cooked pork with carrots and aubergines for mains. A very nice dessert with coffee to complete the meal. The wine was local and of very good quality. Breakfast includes a selection of cakes and tarts cooked by the daughter of the owners, but also more traditional cheese, ham, and cereals. Fresh coffee or tea is provided with numerous refills. All-in-all, a great experience!

Since more than a year we have a fixed stop-over at this delightful B&B in the countryside of Piacenza on our return trips from France. We enjoyed all seasons, with lovely walks as soon as you set foot outside, and plenty of wildlife to admire. The evening meals have always been a delight. Menu of the day, prepared with love and care. Interesting is also that vegetarians are well catered for too! Good selection of local wines too...
