The Lucan

Great stay at the spa hotel Lucan for our friends wedding. Staff are amazing and go above and beyond for you. Food was delicious. Rooms are basic but exactly whats needed. Wedding was beautiful and will definitely be back again

The interior of this hotel is very interesting, grand and historic. The room was warm, staff were friendly. Good selection for breakfast. The location is handy for people driving from the M4/N4, little awkward to get there from the M7/N7. It is however a 5 minute walk to Lucan town so it's handy to venture out for an evening meal. Would definitely stay again.

This place was horrible and it was literally one thing after another. Don’t waste your time staying here. When we arrived we find out there’s no central AC and the elevator is broken. Even though the lift is broken they put me all the way on the third floor all the way at the end of the hallway. I had been traveling Europe so my bag weighed close to 70 pounds! Nobody offered to carry them up. After I sit in the room and sweat for several minutes they bring fans to move the hot air around. We go down to the bar to order the espresso martini that’s on their menu on their website. They have no idea how to make it- ITS ON YOUR MENU. So we order food- unroll the silverware and it was dirty. We put a do not disturb sign on the door and someone is still banging on the door at 7:50 am to clean the room when check out isn’t until 11 and there’s a do not disturb sign like come on. We go downstairs to get breakfast where the menu and website states you can pick one of the nicer meals with meal package plus anything from another list. They argued that and said it was one or the other. When I check out I ask to speak to management and of course they’re on “break” and was told they would call around 11. Twenty four hours later still no call so I follow up and was told again they would call. It’s been another 24 hours and still NO call. This place is a joke that has no concern of their guests. They lure you in with their really well edited photos, and then take your money, leaving you screwed. Especially if you are traveling. I paid a $50 Uber to get there and was basically trapped. They gave no effort to make it any better. I paid close to $150 for one night for all of this. When there’s similar price points for better accommodations in the area, do yourself a favor and go with one of them instead.

A nice place with very nice staff. Car parking is good and had controlled entry and exit. It's in a good location. It is an old building, so it can be considered as nice depending on your requirements. It is also very cheap compared to other hotels. Unfortunately its beside one of the busiest motorways in Ireland. The rooms are small and there is no air conditioning, So, some rooms can get very hot in the summer.

AVOID Horrible smelly room, everything broken or/and dirty. They tried to convince me, that smell was due to local farmers spraying their fields, but I live in the countryside and I know it wasn't it. It was actually getting bit better with windows wide open. Kettle tray so dirty, that I was afraid to make coffee. Black mold in the shower cubicle. Stained carpet. Asked for different room, was told no rooms are available so I decided to take a refund and move to the place more suited for human beings.
