The Vineyard - Forest of Dean

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a ham and tomato toastie, but it was piled with sliced ham and had undercooked tomatoes. The staff seemed preoccupied with a coach party and we ended up paying £29 for a meal with chips and drinks for two, which was not worth it as we left most of the meal uneaten.

This was our first time visiting and we loved the concept of a menu composed solely of tapas-style sharing dishes. We received a very warm welcome and were seated at a great table in the spacious restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of options; we recommend trying the charcuterie platter with the delicious breads. We also enjoyed a few dishes from the sharing menu, along with some gourmet fries. The service was attentive without being intrusive or rushed. The wine list featured their own wines as well as selections from other vineyards, all at reasonable prices.

I visited this restaurant as a birthday gift and had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and the meals were excellent. While there were no grapes to see at the weinberg during this time of year, the tour of the wine processing plant was informative. However, the wine tasting did not quite meet my expectations. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

With several other couples we have celebrated a birthday as soon as we were able to book tables (and rooms in the hotel) after closing the lockdown. the restaurant has changed into a tapas menu post lock, and nothing worse for it, great variety, beautiful...prepared and presented, lovingly served. we had evening slots for service that have more time to enjoy eating (and of course wein) maybe a good idea to order slowly and not get all dishes at once so that they can create a good atmosphere. Sharing tablets offer fantastic choice and worth. we were well supervised by the excellent service team.

Tapas meal had a varied selection, portions were generous and well presented. food was delicious and the service was excellent, would highly recommend
