After 20 minutes the Entree arrived which was fine. At the point of 1 hour and 15 minutes waiting we requested a refund after asking where our main meal only to be told they didn't know where the problem had occurred. We did get our refund and also at the time of processing the meals were then ready which they gave us free of charge. The meals were quite good however they just need to work on the kitchen staff processing orders.
We came here to watch a footy game on the big screen, we are a team travelling through to an event and were a party of 17. I rang in advance and Hannah very obliging and helpful, reserving 3 tables. Great beer selection and solid pub food, staff were engaging and locals were a great bunch up for some banter
Staff are great and treat you like family when you arrive. Always a friendly greeting. Food is always good but if you like the traditional pub grub. Large portions and good prices. Chase the ace is a great incentive on Sunday nights along with the roast of the day. Always well priced daily specials.
Met up with family had a nice relaxing drink in the beer garden had yummy garlic prawns my girl friend had the reef and beef beautifully presented seafood was tender steak was not quite as tender as she liked would order medium next time we will be back and recommend trying the place out
Having lived in Forrestfield for many years and frequenting the Hale Road tavern on numerous occasions I decided to bring international visitors for a relaxing evening with live music. I have to say the band was good however it ended at 9 pm so very early. Likewise, the meal was enjoyable. The main problem arose when we tried to order a malt whiskey on the rocks only to be told it had to be served with a mixer ( unheard of in the busy Edinburgh city centre pub I work in!) We left feeling very disgruntled. Not being unreasonable people, and in fairness wanting to demonstrate the issues we faced on our first visit were an aberration we arranged a second visit on an advertised Karaoke night 25/2. A meal was ordered and drinks for 6 of us.....We were a little early and after a wait, with no sign of karaoke we asked staff what time it would begin only to be told it wasn't on. The bar staff were very apologetic, clearly they weren't at fault, management however were conspicuous by their absence. Needless to say there will be no 3rd chance and sadly anyone who asks our opinion will be left in ni doubt that this establishment is a place to avoid, with not even canned music to create an atmosphere. What a waste of an opportunity, a market cornered and squandered. The change of ownership has been to the detriment of Forrestfield sole remaining pub
