But this hotel is perfect for those who are going to spend most of their day out exploring the area anyway. They had a microwave and a mini fridge. Bathroom was fine. Room was clean and bright. Check-in was no problem and they have probably the friendliest, most helpful front desk associates I have ever experienced at a hotel. We utilized 2 of his recommendations and they were both excellent. In the mornings they offer coffee, tea, fruit and very basic breakfast (think pre-wrapped pastries and bars you may find at COSTCO) but I was appreciative and went to get something each morning. I'd definitely consider to stay here again if Im in the Fort Bragg area.
Fort Bragg Super 8 Hotel was an unexpected jewel. We had never stayed at a Hotel 8 before and were very pleasantly surprised. Robert at the front desk front desk was wonderful and quite a good source of information. We will stay there again when we come back.
For the rates, this place can't be beat. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The toilet paper had a little bow on it. The cleaner's name was handwritten wishing us a nice stay. The wifi was strong and the password was inside the door key holder. The room itself was comfortable and perfectly fine for a good night's sleep between day hikes. No weird noises at night from other rooms, the street or the parking lot (the police station is just a few minutes away, which the staff tells me helps). Glass Beach is a short drive across the street, and all the Ft. Bragg shops and such are just a few minutes up main street. I stayed in the nearby Motel 6 many years ago and had a much different experience. Thank you, Super 8! I'll be back and I recommend this place to others.
I give 5 stars for customer service an appearing clean bed. But a solid 1/2 star worthy motel. I usually book the hotels, this time my husband booked this was what we got. While I was a little scared at first given super 8 reviews it wasn 't as bad as I expected. Would I stay again? No, but we did end up making it through the weekend Pros: -close to everything -good customer service, very friendly accommodating 5 stars for the front desk -low price -close to the wharf downtown (not walkable) Cons: -first room had an overwhelming bleach smell mold. Asked to switch- was moved with no hassle. -second room, appeared clean. Smelled a bit old. -peeling bathtub lining -peeling paint on doors looks kinda like a jail cell door -flooring was coming up -grab and go breakfast was Costco snacks like granola bars pop tarts I feel like it would almost be better to not advertise breakfast -small parking lot(but no extra charge for parking) -very very small room (single queen) -we weren 't able to confirm but possible mouse droppings on the floor in the bathroom -travel shampoo conditioner was really bad -no great view, view of mountain mikes pizza
As far as budget motels go, this was one of the better ones. Very basic, but clean. The bathroom seemed to have been pained fairly recently. Amenities are provided (shampoo, etc). Pizza place right in front and gas station behind. My toilet didn't flush very well, however. After the first day, I came back from exploring and shopping and my key card didn't work. I went to the office and had a new one made, and the employee was a bit bored, it seemed. Eh, probably is a boring g job, all in all, so . I like that it's so close to the restaurants in Noyo Harbor.
