Star of india has been one of my family's favorite restaurants for more than 15 years. I have enjoyed seeing how their menu has developed in running the time, but the quality was always high. Now that I am vegan, I love how clear their vegan options are marked on their menu and how very care the staff takes to make sure we take care. everything I tried was delicious, but my favorites are the madras and the biryani!
My partner and I visited here for the first time, and it was wonderful. we let them know that we are vegan, and they point out that their menu displays the vegan options(which there are many! the personal was incredibly friendly. we have a lot to try and everything was delicious and well seasoned. the only criticism I think of was the amount of rice that comes with escape. we bought an additional portion rice to go with our left. was not so proportional to the amount of deer, but not a big thing. I would highly recommend and we can wait to go back!
I love Indian cuisine. But this isn't it. I ordered chana masala and it was bland. I didn't see or taste any fresh herbs or spices. It was just onions and garbanzo beans over rice. If you are looking for authentic Indian, somewhere else is probably better.
We love that they have a vegan menu and the food is delicious! We are not disappointed and cant wait for our next visit.
