The Old Bank Bistro And - Fort Erie

We had visited this restaurant about a year ago and the food was great so we decided to come back for my birthday and brought along another couple. Our waitress was nice but kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for light whole wheat buns instead of regular ones. I ordered the salmon which was the special and it was overcooked and dry, topped with a blob of cranberry, maple syrup sauce which I couldn't taste the maple syrup. My husband ordered the rainbow trout only got one fillet and was so thin and had the twice baked potato which was served in a little dish with about 1/4 cup of mashed gooey potato. He ordered the buffalo chicken wing soup which he thought was excellent. Our friend ordered whole wheat pasta and got regular pasta. His wife had complained that his meal was wrong and the waitress offered other things but he wanted pasta. They brought his pasta back as we were just finishing our meals and it wasn't cooked. They didn't charge him for his meal and compensated with 2 free beers. The waitress apologized several times and said that there was a party and she was busy and forgot a few things. She felt bad and we understand that mistakes are made but why did they serve uncooked pasta. The quality and quantity of food didn't substantiate the price and we will never return. There are far more better restaurants than this one. What a let down for my friends and for my birthday dinner. Oh yes the waitress did bring a piece of cake for us to share.

My boyfriend & I visited this restaurant after receiving a gift card from family. We didn’t know what to expect but were blown away by the beautiful atmosphere in the courtyard. Our waitress was very nice and the food was good, with great portion sizes and an even better value! We would have never come across this place without the gift card but we are thankful we did and will definitely be back! Thanks for the great food and wonderful service!

I have done over 150 reviews and this fine estanlishment is in the top 3 for sure.The food was 5 star, the surroundings are 5 star, the server Lauri was 6 star. The reason for the extra star is due to Lauri being a great Ambassador for the restaurant and for Fort Erie. Her interest in the customers needs are fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and what all the dishes were all about. Also Lauri explained what was going around for activities in the Fort Erie area. This helped us out, seeing we are new to the area.I have the feeling this will be one of our new go to places.It does not get better than fine food, great service and beautiful surroundings.Try The Old Bank Bistro out.
