The chicken wings came with sauce, but only if we specifically asked for it. One person in our group had to wait 20 minutes for their meal. The happy hour and the terrace were definitely the highlights of the experience, though. We tried the ornamental fish sauces, crab cake sliders, and chicken wings.
The food was excellent, and our server Alexa was fantastic. She handled everything on her own since the bartender called out, so it was just her and the cook. Despite having a full terrace, she managed it all with a smile. We will definitely return. It's worth mentioning that a large yacht can obstruct your view of the waterway, so the scenery can differ. The happy hour is great, offering half-priced wine, beer, and cocktails from around 3 PM to 6 PM. It would have been a five-star experience if the view had been better.
A quick tip: when you look this place up on Google Maps, it may appear to be in the middle of the water, but don’t let that discourage you; it’s definitely worth the short walk. It’s accessible via the piers near the Pier 66 Hotel, so I suggest starting there and following the signs. We arrived on a Saturday around 12:30 to find a good number of seats available. We chose a table right by the water, offering a stunning view of the Stranahan River and the port of Lauderdale. If you can, definitely aim to sit by the water. **Atmosphere:** The waterfront vibes create an inviting and relaxed environment—it's hard not to unwind in such a setting. **Food:** My friend had highly recommended the fish tacos, and the waitress echoed that, so I didn’t have much choice but to try them. The menu isn’t overly extensive, which I appreciate, but it offers a nice variety of seafood and some meat dishes, fitting for South Florida. The fish tacos came with two sizable pieces of fish, topped with cabbage slaw and pickled vegetables. The accompanying sauce was delicious as well. You have options for sides, including fries, sweet potatoes, or a side salad. Given my indulgent eating leading up to this visit, I didn’t expect much from the side salad, assuming it would be a basic mix of romaine and a few tomatoes. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The salad was made with a base of mixed greens, seasoned cashews, mango, and toasted coconut, all drizzled with a mango vinaigrette. WOW! I know it might not be a popular choice to order a side salad, especially since I usually skip salads when dining out, but I genuinely recommend it! Everything was satisfying, and I have a pretty big appetite, so that’s saying something. The next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale, I will definitely make a return visit to Pelican Landing!
It is a fun place, live music and wonderful views. My margarita was just fine, but the food was delicious. We had to start the Pork Ropa Vieja with stones, I had the fish Tacos with salad and my husband had the Mahi Mahi, we had a good time with friends.
The view is fabulous, basically you wouldn?t miss a boat passing a river fantastic! I got a blackened fish of a day (red snapper) and loved it. But I guess that they are a little under staff and won?t check on you much, I had to wait a bit more than I expected to order my food, and I don?t recommend their drinks it?s just no delicious like they don?t have a professional bartender.
