Not surprised to see others have the same poor opinion of Broward Health's management Barry Gallison. Shameful.
Less than a star would be appropriate. My father was discharged form Broward General and I wasn't contacted. He drove himself home and he was not well when I met him at his home he was so ill I contacted paramedics and he was rushed and admitted to another hospital. When I called to get the nurse's name to file a complaint. The nurse manager refused and transferred me to a case manager Kim Newinger who refused who transferred me to another Human Resources Cornelis Devoedt and he refused. I was told that Risk Management would contact me and it's been 18 hours and they still have not. Can a hospital refuse to give you a nurse's name so a patient's family member can make their own formal complaint? I guess they can. None of the the employees I spoke to showed any concern for my fathers current situation. None of them used any deescalation skills they just blatantly stated that I was upset. I don't know what state you can ask a family member to be in when they are nervous, sad, and confused and are watching their father be so ill that he can barely speak after being discharged from a hospital 2 hours prior. Shame on the staff at Broward General. They were more concerned with shielding a coworker from a complaint. And usually a team approach is admirable in this case it is detrimental.
I fell badly on March 6th. I fell flat on my face outside on the pavement. While bleeding profusly and having mu a and after being transported by EMS to Broward Health I was the only person in the trauma unit until they brought someone directly from a cruise ship. When the xray tech took off my necklace I asked he to be careful and put in my pocket. She wasn't and lost a sentimental item from it. The nurse I had had no other patients but could not wash the dirt and sand off my face which plowed face first into the earth when I fell. Nor could she wash the blood from my arms and take care of the abrasions. I asked for a tetanus shot but she gave me some BS that I was already discharged because she didn't want to do the paperwork. I don't know what happened to BGMC because they used to take care of me even when I didn't have insurance which I do now. Really bad experience but what's the alternative?
I'd leave zero stars if I could worst hospital I've ever been to, waiting room was filthy. Was given false information from triage and left abruptly prior to seeing the doctor.
