An okay place the noodles and soup were not properly cooked together
Extensive menu. They do knife noodles, soft tofu soup, bulgogi, chicken stew, etc.. Just like an American diner makes everything from omelet to sirloin steak. Normally you do not trust a restaurant like this to be authentic. You normally walk away when the restaurant boasts an encyclopedia-like menu. This place, however, deserves a trial from you. Every menu items seem to be well above average. Their grilled bulgogi surprisingly tasty. Summertime, they bang out naeng-myun (cold buckwheat noodle) in high volume. Soft tofu stew is not as good as BCD, but it’s very competent. But their specialty is knife noodle. And the dumpling. As their name indicates, they specialize in the Myung Dong Noodle, which is very famous and incredibly tasty noodle restaurant in Myung Dong, South Korea. Does this place offer the same taste as the Myung Dong branch? Nope. But I’d say their version is the closest to the original one. That’s why I visit this restaurant 3-4 times a year. This is a solid restaurant. If you are a lover of Myung Dong knife noodle, then this place is indispensable. If not, then you have more (and better) options to try Korean food in the Fort Lee Palisade Park area.
We went there on last Sunday. Service's as good as before. The dumplings in the noodles were overcooked. The minced meat in the bowl of noodles sank to the bottom. The food looks not as fresh and good. I felt uncomfortable to my stomach after eating yellow croaker rice. The reason I thought probably because the boss lady was not there.
This place was bustling on a Saturday evening, but the wait was worth it! We had seafood pancake and a kalguksu to share. They are quite generous with the portions, as well as the kimchi and pickled cabbage. The servers were very nice and attentive and was had a blast there. If only it was easier to get to from Manhattan!
