Skillets Ft. Myers Cypress Trace

We were headed to our usual breakfast spot when we decided to give this place a try, and I'm so glad we did. Don’t let the heavy wood paneling and rubberwood décor deter you. Often, restaurants that haven’t updated their decor since the 40s can be dirty and neglected, but this one is quite the opposite—it's very clean and well-maintained. Our breakfast was fantastic; it’s rare to find a place that can cook medium poached eggs just right, but these were perfect and seasoned beautifully. It truly was the best breakfast we’ve both had in years.

The waffles and pancakes were excellent. The waffle had a crispy exterior and a soft interior, just the way we love them. The service was prompt and friendly. They offer generous portion sizes for their weekday specials. I’ll definitely return for breakfast the next time I'm in the area.

GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS. Every time I'm in town, I make it a point to visit Skillets (Cypress Trace). Today, I brought a guest with extreme gluten sensitivities, so I was pleased to know they offered gluten-free options. Our waitress, Jasmine, was outstanding and attentive to our needs. She took the initiative to explain how they prevent cross-contamination, and I was delighted to learn about their gluten-free pancakes and waffles, which were absolutely delicious. Jasmine is truly an advocate for gluten-free dining, and I believe Skillets could attract even more customers if they were well-known for their reliable gluten-free offerings, including various breads and other items.

I highly suggest coming here if you're looking for something quick and tasty. The food came out fast, the service was great, and it was very calming walking in. The food was slightly over seasoned, but I like my food like that anyway, and the corned beef was slightly overcooked, but again I like it like that.
