The space has beautiful soft warm lighting with local artists paintings adorning the walls. The staff are always friendly and even though my favorite drink is not on the menu they make excellent whiskey sours with egg white. Their ramen bowls are perfectly filling paired with an appetizer. I have been here for 5 years and come to this place again and again with friends and family and each time it's a hit.
Lucky Belly was great! The restaurant is clean and very modern, located in Chinatown. Booking the reservation earlier in the week was easy breezy. My friend ordered the kimchi ramen, pork belly bao, lamb lumpia, plantation iced tea, and vodka soda. Overall, everything tasted wonderful. I would love to visit again.
I am very disappointed with this experience. After seeing good reviews online, I made a reservation a month in advance. We traveled from out of state, eager to try this restaurant. Our reservation was confirmed by OpenTable, and we even paid for parking. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was closed with no one inside. I spoke to a police officer nearby who informed me that there was a power outage affecting the entire block, and he believed the restaurant would not be opening that night. I understand that these situations can happen, but I'm extremely upset that we did not receive any notification--no call or text--from the restaurant about the closure. This lack of communication was very disappointing.
Cute dimmed lighting and good seating. I like the cocktail selection, they have interesting ingredient combinations. The food is beautifully presented, but the flavours kind of fall flat. I got the dumplings, steak skewer and duck tacos. The duck was kind of stringy which doesn't pair well with such a crunchy fried shell. For some reason I tasted a lot of balsamic vinegar flavour in the dumplings and even the steak, and not much else. I wish there was more sauce and other ingredients to add to the flavour profile, especially for the price. Again, the food is not bad, but it's also not great. I'd come here for the imaginative drinks though.
