Everywhere, if they like fresh sushi, this is not the place for them. I had better roll at kroger. we ordered a glass house wine, 2 appetizers miso suppe and edamne . it's $35 for everyone they can eat, we have on the ayce sashimi for $15. the scallop was very good, the toro toro mp only allowed 2, was not good at all. we went ahead and ordered 3 rolls to give them a try, they were 2/10 best. I will try them again, but not very likely to change the fish quality. our server was very nice, she let our appetizers sit at the end of the counter, where the boils them down, long enough they were cold and our sushi came out first. but she made good reviews about what to try. our tab was $130 without tipp.
They have changed their menu and no longer offer many of the items they used to offer (specialty sashimi, handrolls, wagyu, uni, foie gras). All they offer is a minimal menu or basic rolls and sashimi for an all you can eat pricing model. The menu that they display on their site is no longer what they offer at this location. The quality of fish also isn’t as good as it used to be in my opinion. I just want to make sure people are aware of this as we were very unpleasantly surprised by this the last time we went to this restaurant. It was not the dinner we were hoping for which is unfortunate as this used to be our favorite restaurant in town for their authentic Japanese cuisine offering
They did not have hand rolls. They did not have uni. They did not have wagyu. They had one tower. Every roll was covered in the four sauces. I think our table tried 7 appetizers; one was edible. The server said this location was in the process of reinventing itself for this location’s market and trying different appetizers. They also did not have a bar menu. I also could not get their current menu online. The rolls and tower were good. I’d ask for the sauces on the side. If you love the other locations or this one when it opened, know that it is a different place.
Unexpected loveliness. Really friendly staff and fresh seafood. We’ll definitely be back.
