From the moment we walked up and sat down the lights were turned off and we were met with hostility from a gentlemen there as if we were on his personal property rather than entered a dining establishment. The audacity of the staff, particularly one individual, to interrupt our conversation was not only jarring but completely uncalled for. The ambiance, tainted by this utter disregard for customer comfort, left a sour taste that no dish could remedy. Save your time, energy, and money – there are countless places in Fort Worth that are more deserving of your patronage. Tinie’s, unfortunately, is not one of them.
Food isnt terrible but bland and over priced. Chicken was dry and there wasn't much seasoning on the food. Portions are fairly small.Service is friendly but will badger you every 5 minutes to sell you more liquor (but not offer things like more chips when we're out).Indoor atmosphere was dark and dingy but patio was nice. Sadly our table was like a seesaw because it was unbalanced but it was still a cool patio.Parking: Very limited street parking so will likely have to pay to park in the lot next door or across the street.
Great atmosphere and service! I went on Taco Tuesday which made it a little more affordable. I accidentally ordered the queso with beans rather than the one I wanted; the server was so kind offering to switch it out for me! Fun vibes :
The duck tacos were good, the cocktails were really good, but the goat tacos tamales didn't have much flavor. The quantity quality didn't seem to be worth what they charge.
The building itself is the best feature of Tinies, with architect-designed rustic decor setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The indoor lighting is dark, even on a blazing summer evening, and the sound borders on too live, both things people with aging eyes and ears have to consider. Our pretty young server was so attentive and friendly it felt like she was angling for an invitation to sit down and join us; more of a distraction than an asset to the experience. The menu promises small, exquisitely prepared dishes, meant more to savor than fill a hungry belly. I thought I found my new favorite restaurant when the shrimp ceviche arrived, but the tacos--two to an order and exactly four bites of meat filling in a corn tortilla each--and the sides failed to impress my date and me. Tinies is a wonderful place to share a lovely, expensive mean and not go off your diet.
