Satoshi Sushi - Fountain Valley

This has been my neighborhood go to since I moved to HB. They had been pretty consistent, but tonight was quite different. The albacore was inedible, having what I can only describe as an abundance of silverskin like tendon all throughout. Some of the salmon has some odd black stuff on it. The piece of avocado in my handroll was brown and black and quite dry. Had to pull it out and toss it. And the scallop was pretty dang small. This was a pretty poor showing for AYCE, much less a place costing me over $100. Time to find a new go to. Update The restaurant has reached out to me directly to make things right. It is rare indeed to find this level of service and commitment to the customer in this day and age. This place has great food. The crazy salmon and yummy tummy rolls are definitely the way to go : the general ambiance and Japanese music also make for a good vibe. Not to mention the guy with the white hair has really great customer service!! He went above and beyond to make sure my group was taken care of! Thank you!!

After reading all the reviews, I've decided to give this place a try. My bf I came here for dinner. We frequent a lot of good sushi restaurants around OC and was hoping to add this one to the list. Unfortunately that is not the case. We ordered the Chef's choice sashimi platter and the sushi platter. The sashimi quality is the same quality of sashimi that I could get at Hmart. The sushi platter thet were supposed to have 10 pc of sushi came with 4 pieces of rolls. I am a sashimi girl! I would settle for sushi but rolls of any kind are no no in my book. The only thing we liked was the yellowtail collar. It was on point! On average my bf and I would spend about $200 for dinner at a decent sushi restaurant, but this dinner only cost us $75 tips. I got goosebumps on the last couple of pieces of sashimi when I forced myself to finish the platter since I didn't want to waste food. I should've known better HB is not a place for a good sushi place unless you're a roll lover. Also, since we sat at the bar, I think the chefs could tell we didn't enjoy the food so when we left, no one bothered yelling in Japanese to say goodbye lol

This is my go-to for takeout sushi, so I decided to dine in this time. The whole experience was incredible. The food was outstanding and the service was great! Try the Triple Tuna roll!! Party of 3 went to dinner. kinda busy (which is a good sign, ya) we sat outside. a table right by front door. it was cool. had delicious meals.
