Feedback gevenI have eaten mexican food in many places other than southern california, so i don't even get my hopes up when in montana. but el mirador was close to our house, new, had a good review, so we figured we'd give it a try. there were three of us--they screwed up every one of our orders. not a big deal, but it wasn't marked, so we didn't know which was which. we also got a combination (or thought we did) on all three orders, but my wrong order was the only one that featured rice and beans. okay. the good--the carne asada was tasty. the tortillas looked pretty solid, as was the salsa. the rice and beans were not plentiful, but were fine. the bad--my burrito was ground beef in a flour tortilla, wet. it was flat as a pancake. if you look at the other reviewer's picture, he has this massive burrito and a stout order of rice and beans. i didn't get that. also, there wasn't a big flavor festival happening. it was very ordinary and nothing stood out. and, if you order horchata, it comes in a paper cup filled with a lot of ice, so maybe ask them to put less ice in if you want to drink something. lastly, their prices are clearly posted, but i have no idea how they came up with their number, especially since there were no combos involved. it seemed a little high, and it's not hard to figure out prices in a state that doesn't have sales tax. they're new. maybe it wasn't the usual people (the girl who took our order said she was helping her brother out). but, i asked them what they would recommend, and i got what they recommended, and it still was just okay, at best. i'll give them another shot one day, but they need to step it up a little. i wish them luck.
I'm from Arizona and I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur. While driving through Bozeman I found this little Mexican food place in the parking lot of a thrift store. It's a mother and son run taco bus. The food was amazing!!! I recommend the chorizo burrito.
