Two menu options were available: a 7 course full vegan menu or an 8 course menu including two non vegan dishes. We chose the latter together with wine pairings including 7 glasses of German wine. A selection of four snacks were served (with a glass of Ruinart rose Champagne in addition to the wine pairings) including beetroot (as a shot as well as a tartare topped with wasabi cream), a chive tart and a bread pillow with fillings of orange blossom cream. All very delicious and indeed a good start. The menu kicked off with one large white aspargus with tomato concasse and potato salad. The aspargus being cooked to perfection and especially the tomatoes were really tasty. This was followed by a bread serving (named Winschgauer bread) with as substitute to butter a cream including seven herbs. Next followed variations on carrot (a cooked carrot and a carrot cream). I liked the detail with the sesame seeds on top adding texture to the dish. The following dish was a selection of mushrooms: as raviolo, marinated and a broth. I am a huge fan of mushrooms and was definitely not disappointed. The following two dishes were the non vegan options: first a large langoustine with a slightly spicy (but very balanced) sauce including tandoori and bell peppers as well as green aspargues. Meat followed: veal filet as an addition to the otherwise full vegan dish including new peas, celery, and a lovely sauce. Then two desserts. a refreshing pre dessert with pickled peaches served as a shot followed by an extraordinary beautifully looking plate with rhubarbs and strawberries, ice cream and crumble on top. We finished with coffee and were each given a small box with delicious sweets, which could either be enjoyed with the coffee or taken home. Wine pairings were great, all German wines including 5 white wines, 1 red and a sweet wine. The service was excellent and very personal. We really felt comfortable and at home being taken so good care of by everyone. Being used to the prices in Copenhagen the final bill was almost ridiculously low, as only one person would be able to dine in a local two star restaurant for the price we paid for two people at Lafleur. Having never eaten vegan food before I was indeed pleasantly surprised. Lafleur runs a light and refined kitchen, which was very suitable for a warm summer evening. With the limits of not using any dairy products, fish or meat for the vegan dishes, I believe the kitchen has done a remarkably great job in finding other ways to create top food; maybe I will not convert to a vegan I like meat/fish/dairy products too much but this was a great introduction to a different culinary world. Now I have a good reason to go to the restaurant in Frankfurt to experience their classic cooking I can only imagine it must be equally great. Highly recommended and thank you to the staff at Lafleur pop up in Copenhagen.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Amazing experience! Food out of this world! It was a treat for our Anniversary! It was not cheap but hey....the overall enjoyment was worth every single euro! My wife still talking about it almost everyday after a month We may have to come back soon Keep this wonderful restaurant as it is! Danke
I went to Lafleur last Thursday with 4 clients, one of whom is based in Frankfurt and he booked it and chose the wine throughout leaving me to pick up a €500 a head bill, but it was well worth it! 7 course taster with amuse-bouche before most and 4 homemade sweets and chocolates for coffees, which I declined as so content and full but they put these in a beautiful presentation box Really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back in two years as promised my wife I would take her there for our 20th anniversary Truely a wonderful experience
In one word perfekt! Great food, more than nice and interesting wines and a great setting. In two words most expensive. If it is worth the money it is up to you to decide. This is not the place you go to once or twice a week, more like once in a lifetime and a little bit more interest from the staff would have been noticed, like the chef saying good bye (which I have experienced at similar restaurants) and a little bit more of engagement when they presented the dishes and the expensive wines. I mean, if you take the winepairing at 500 € you know that a certain wine is from Pomerol or Sauternes but why did the sommelier chose that wine to a certain dish. Anyway it was nice and it was more than expensive.
Really great food. Wine was also good but maybe overpriced. Staff was very polite and professional. Restaurant is beautiful and very well designed. I'm very happy with my visit!
