Hunan Gourmet - Frederick

The restaurant offers a separate menu for vegetarians, which is actually vegan. I made sure to confirm with the staff that there were no eggs, fish sauce, milk, etc. We ordered the vegetable pan-fried dumplings, "beef" and broccoli, and "chicken" with green beans. The flavors were delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes.

On my first visit, I was served chicken despite repeatedly stating my request. The second time, I made it clear by pointing at the paper menu and saying "no meat." The food was delicious with generous portions. I will return, but I recommend double-checking to ensure no meat is included in your order.

This restaurant has a special menu with vegan options, using only vegan ingredients and no fish sauces. Some of my favorite dishes are the green General Tso's tofu, faux chicken lo mein, and fried rice. The spring rolls are delicious and the dumplings are good. The faux shrimp is a bit strange but tasty, and as someone allergic to shrimp, it feels almost like I'm eating the real thing, which I haven't had in 30 years. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!

This place was a huge surprise. It used to be our goto omni chinese food delivery, then we checked out their vegan menu. It is huge! They cook everything to order for just about every classic dish you can think of. When compared to other vegan options, it might not be the healthiest, but if you have a chinese food craving, you can quench it here. Just let them know you're vegan when ordering and they'll check in the back with the chef for anything the front is unsure of.

Whenever I am in Frederick and need to grab some take-out I almost ALWAYS order from Hunan. They have so many fantastic options and the food is great.
