This isn’t the first time we’ve been treated with such disrespect at this place. These girls, and I mean everyone we have dealt with, are rude, disrespectful, unhappy looking and just down right unprofessional. Tonight I had a sugar free shake that I had ordered. It was my first time getting it BUT I get their sugar free chocolate ice cream a lot. It’s delicious. I also drink skim milk at home. So when I ordered it I asked for the sugar free ice cream and skim milk for the shake. (The girl asked if I wanted fat free and I said yes). When I received it and tried it it tasted extremely bizarre. Almost like a chemical. Plus it was so thick that it literally was like ice cream was just dumped in the cup. When I told the girl it didn’t taste right at all and it tastes very weird and that I didn’t really want it however I had ordered another shake as well (mint shake) which was delicious. The girl got such an attitude and then proceeded to go get the manager who looked maybe 18 or 19 years old. She walks up to the counter with a very loud voice and mind you the place was packed so everyone was looking and has an attitude with me. She asks me what’s the problem. I said, you don’t have to cause a scene. She continues talking very loud and says, well you tasted the drink so we can’t take it back. I said it doesn’t taste right. It’s really bad. She said, well we put skim milk in it. I explained I drink skim at home. She said we can remake it and I said that would be fine of course. So I assume I’m going to pay for the drink which was fine. Next thing I know she (claims to be the manager) snatches the drink with a serious attitude off of the counter and precedes to stomp to the back. I started to say “I thought I was buying it.” She again turns with an attitude and yells “Do you want it or not?!” I have 2 teenage girls who was going to apply there last summer and when they walked in they IMMEDIATELY got a vibe that the girls there would be a problem and be the type that are very rude and caddy. They were 100% right. I blame the owners for this as well. They clearly allow this behavior! I work in downtown Freehold at a very popular restaurant and I will definitely make it known to not go here for the ice cream. Completely unprofessional every time.
This is a great burger shack in a real brick-and-mortar instead of a shack. It is also atop the list of NJ ice cream places that you must try. We had business in Freehold, so stopped here for a little sandwich and drinks. We could have passed on the fries, but both enjoyed our sandwiches. The grilled chicken was well-seasoned. The steak sandwich very good with plenty of lefovers. The place was clean, most people were masked until they ate, and the food was quick to come out. We also had ice cream afterwards. We were plain. My husband had mint chocolate chip, I had a soft serve cup with flavor. The ice cream was fine, but I would not stand in line with it as many people do in the summer time.
So went back this year to try the food other than ice cream. Yes the ice cream is as good as always. But this time I discovered their burgers. Now that was an amazing surprise. I had their Hometown Burger 6 oz. beef burger, 6 oz. thin sliced sirloin topped with grilled onions and provolone on a hard roll You need to have this. It was amazing. Glad the news owners has brought some flavor to the food menu.
The quality of the food is very good however, the portions are paltry. Plus you only get the item you order fries for a sandwich is an add on. The kids chicken is 2 pieces the size of one tender cut in half.
