This time there was room, and we discovered it was a cheese shop and restaurant, with every dish in some way using cheese - so if you don't like cheese or have an allergy - just walk past. We had smoked salmon with mozzarella, scallops and ravioli with cheese sauce and an 'assiette sélection' of 5 cheeses. A lovely meal with a bottle of the local 'Teres' rosé wine, and coffees as well. Not too badly priced at 86 euros. The owner came and chatted, and we had a great time. One small tip, check your change from the waiter!
We stumbled over Mon Fromager, à cheese shop, were you are able to have a realy great lunch. The salads are realy well with State of the art buffalo monzarella , but also la planche gargantua with different cheese, confiture, charcuteries iberique was ' superbe'. The bottle of white wine ( local, unchi and rolle) was a good companion. We finished with lovely desserts , realy in line with the mean course. The guy who was serving us, was spot on.The place to go to for a lovely lunch.
Based on the reviews on here we saved visiting Mon Fromager until our last night and we were not disappointed! The menu is mainly salads - I had the goats cheese and charcuterie one which was full of great flavours and very filling! The rest of my party had the seabass special - which was also delicious! We then had a cheese board to end - the desserts being delivered to other tables looked yummy too!The service was great -despite there only being one waiter he was very attentive, helpful and friendly. And it was very good value - 120 euros for 5 including 2 bottles of very nice wine.As others have said I would recommend booking a table as there are not many - we booked and all tables were reserved when we arrived! If you like cheese, good food and you are in Frejus then, in my opinion, this restaurant is a must!
Nothing really special about this place except the service is good considering they only have one waiter and non speaking English friendly. The food is as good as well as any restaurant around the cathedral area. The price of food is almost the same as other places.
Great idea to make a restaurant in a cheese shop, all foods we tried were fantastic, service was very nice, wines are perfect and prices are good value for money.
