After spending the last three months living on the other side of the river near East Street Jetty, we noticed the food trucks setting up across the way on Monday evenings. Finally making our way over the Fremantle Traffic Bridge to check them out, we regretted not doing so sooner. Whether you're a visitor in Perth or a resident of Fremantle, it's definitely worth a try. Around half a dozen food trucks offer a variety of takeout options for around $15 each. There are some chairs and tables scattered around, or you can sit on the jetty and watch the boats from Rottnest Island or dolphins swim by. The trucks are open on Monday evenings from around 5pm to 8 or 9pm and will be there at least until the end of March (not sure if they operate in cooler weather). With a bit of background music, adults, children, and dogs on leashes all have a great time.
Having lived on the other side of the river from East Street Jetty for the past three months each Monday night we've watched the food trucks swing in to set up shop. When we finally walked across the Fremantle Traffic Bridge to check them out, we wished we'd done it earlier in the season. Whether you're a visitor to Perth or a resident of Fremantle, it's definitely worth a try. Around half a dozen food vans offer a reasonable range of takeaway food for around $15 a pop. There are a few chairs and tables scattered around or you can sit on the jetty and watch the boats returning from Rottnest Island or the dolphins swimming past. They operate on Monday evenings from around 5pm or so to around 8 or 9pm -- and will be around at least until the end of March (not sure whether they set up shop in the cooler weather). Bit of up-beat music, adults, kids, dogs on leads all having a good time. Both food and atmosphere are tops.
This an iconic pub located on the banks of the Swan River in FremantleIt is winter yet we could sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and scenery.
Last Sunday the weather wasn't very friendly and the sound of rain and hail woke us up around 6AM in the morning.
