I must say, it was crispy, juicy, and not greasy - everything you want in good fried chicken. I usually don't like dipping chicken in sauce; I prefer the flavors to be in the chicken itself, so I ate mine plain, which was perfectly fine. We ordered drums and thighs, both of which were very meaty. I think my expectations were a bit high due to the rave reviews from my friends, but it was still delicious.
Service 5/5 stars Food 3/5 stars Soy garlic chicken 3.5/5 stars The garlic was not as strong as I thought it'd be. The sauce was a little more on the thin/light and watery side, so it didn't stick to the chicken as well, making it barely distinguishable. We ordered 20 pc wings but received the 20 pc combo drums and wings instead (which also costs more). We prefer wings over drums because drums can be really tough when over cooked, but we didn't want to send it back and remake it because it takes a while for fried chicken.. Some of the drums were a little tough, my jaw got a bit tired of chewing after a while lol. But most of the chicken were cooked really well! The size of the pieces looked bigger in pictures, but they were a good size, bigger than Wingstop wings. French fries 3/5 stars Just your basic french fries, you're not missing out if you don't order them but it's a good starter since the chicken takes some time to cook. I wish they were a little crispier and fluffier but that's alright. Sweet spicy 2/5 This basically tastes like kimchi lol. We weren't a huge fan, so we asked for more soy garlic because the wings were light on sauce, and honey mustard. Honey mustard is one of their four flavors but we used it as a dipping sauce for the soy garlic wings lol You get a complimentary small bowl of salad, and the dressing is so good!! I don't know what it was exactly, but I would've been willing to order a full size of that salad if I could. There is also a little self serve station for hot tea, which had a nice toasty taste. Service was great, besides the mistake with the order. There was only one person working, but he was efficient and very friendly, always checking in on us. Your four sauce choices are spicy, sweet and spicy, honey mustard, and soy garlic, with the option to mix sauces or put it on the side. I'd recommend soy garlic out of the three flavors I tried. Yelp says they open at 11:30 am but their sign says open at 11 am. We came around 11:30, so I don't know if the sauce is a little more developed or thicker later in the day, but had it been less watery and more sticky, the wings probably would've tasted much better. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's not a bad option.
Oh, Coco Chicken, I can't stop raving about you! Ever since we discovered your delicious fried chicken and affordable prices, life hasn't been the same. Your honey mustard sauce is amazing, surpassing even Jollibee's gravy. Your fried chicken is perfectly crispy yet not greasy at all - how do you do it? I don't want to know the secret, just keep up the great work. The macaroni salad with apple is also a tasty choice. Just thinking about your chicken has me craving it all over again. The crispy skin, the sweet honey mustard - it's like heaven on a plate.
The restaurant offers fantastic food, excellent service, and a clean environment. The fact that it is family-owned adds a special touch. I ordered the medium-sized fried chicken platter with all the sauces on the side, and it was delicious. The chicken pieces were not overly large, indicating that they are not using old chickens. Additionally, everything is prepared from scratch. I left feeling satisfied and content, and I highly recommend this restaurant to others.
I dropped in with a couple of friends before hitting up the recliner theater at New Park Mall. Not the greatest chicken I 've had. To tell you the truth, I 'm not a slathered wings kind of guy. I can get down with the saucy stylings of 99 Chicken that people tend to compare all K-chicken to, but that 's about it. No BWWs, no SmokeEaters, no Wing Stop hOOters. Give me tenders any day with dipping sauce on the side... yep. Come to my table 's surprise, let 's just order a medium was a shocker. I filled the void with orders of onion rings and 'COCO pops ' which were their version of fried chicken breast bites--crunchy, dry and a little short in value but I probably enjoyed them the most. You can pretty much say the same about all their fried items starring their Fried Chicken plates. I can 't complain about the service though. It seemed like there were only two inhouse that lunch service, the server/cashier and cook. The frontman was good to us, gave us a free salad bar and even asked if we needed anything else when I put up for the bill. Said he liked my WS '12 Giants shirt too. Worth a try if you got a deep fry hankering.
