Friday's Crabhouse - Friday Harbor

I visited several times during my trip to San Juan! We mostly enjoyed drinks, so I can't comment too much on the food, but the fish and chips I ordered were quite tasty.

The food is fantastic, the service is friendly, and the location is perfect. The view of the harbor is exceptional. The top deck is the ideal spot for dining.

I believe this restaurant has the potential to be a fun spot, but they really messed up our order and never informed us about it. After waiting for over 30 minutes, I had to ask about our food. It turned out...

It was a Tuesday, and my main complaint was that the frying oil needed to be replaced and filtered, as the fish had a dark appearance instead of the nice golden brown I was expecting. The oysters weren't great, but the scallops were done perfectly. The shrimp were just okay. Most people in my group enjoyed their meals, but next time, we'll consider trying a different restaurant.

Delicious food, but the service was a bit odd or maybe just lacking! We didn't notice any signs or directions, so we took a few seats at the street-side bar, which offered an amazing view! After sitting for a while, my husband went to the bar to ask for menus and drinks. The bartender's response was simple: "Here’s a menu, you can either pay or open a tab." That was it! We browsed the menu, placed our order, and then waited. Someone called our name very quickly! Our food and drinks were delivered, and each time they shouted our name as if it was the first time hearing it! Over the course of drinks, soup, tacos, oysters, and a Polish dog, it happened six times! The food was outstanding—everything was fantastic! The smoked salmon spread was thick and had just the right amount of salmon and cream cheese. The grilled fish and shrimp tacos were beautifully spiced without being overwhelming. The Polish dog was massive! But the oysters were the highlight, grilled to perfection and the caper broth they added was genius! I highly recommend this place, especially for the chowder and oysters, and I will definitely be back!
