This historic brewhouse is really an experience. self-verbraut beer an excellent menu. great seasonal activities. not quite cheap, but totally acceptable in the service and the friendly service. a rent is connected. as gag gold wash in the beer garden.
Lovely restaurant in an old building with own brewery. Huge portions of authentic Thuringian food and a selection of beer specialities
We chanced on this place four years ago and enjoyed a good lunch, so we looked forward to trying it for an evening meal. Arriving at 7:00 pm on a Tuesday, we were surprised to find the premises packed with people. Apparently reservations are strongly advisable even on a weekday in the off-season. Luckily, a friendly waiter managed to squeeze us in. We dined on the seasonal specialty of roast venison with dumplings and vegetables (15.90 Euros), washed down with the excellent house-brewed beer (3.30 per 50 cl). The food was richly flavored, and the portions absolutely massive. It is no exaggeration to say that a single order would have been more than enough to feed the two of us.
They did annoy me that the WiFi was only for their guests. The massive profit margin is from their restaurant customers not five or so guests. The first time such a place has refused to dish out the key. Thus I think everybody should ask for it until they get tired and realise they have an attitude problem. The food itself is good, portions twice as big as elsewhere at twice the price. Beer and wine good. Veggies are stuck with just one option, vegetarian surprise, which is a massive plate of what's in season with pasta. Snitzel good. Bearing the lack of vegetarian options, the high price, the customer attitude and poncy feel of the place we eat there twice and four times in Restaurants Boulevard which doesn't have WiFi but a more comfortable place to eat. Brauhaus is good for a treat but that is far as it goes.
