Courte Paille - Frouard

I was entice at the thought of eating a some decent steak at this steak house. They do cook with wood which is interesting. However the portions and price will make me think again. For the hungry man’s 20 euro steak menu, I expected more that the two small pieces of steak at that price point. There is a 15% discount if you stay at the local hotels which is a plus I guess.

Thought the food was OK quality but quite expensive for what was a simple menu. But I would eat here again for the convenience to the autoroute.

Good value, good food, reasonable menu, convenient for the budget hotels next door. I had a pate starter. Mains were magret de canard (duck breast), his was a skewer of duck breast figs. Both accompanied by frites haricot verts, both very good. Courte Paille is a chain, so you don't expect haut cuisine. I was a good meal, not spectacular but OK. For us it's a cut above Buffalo Grill which is very Tex/Mex oriented doesn't take cards.

Super welcome, well organized and fast team, well controlled kitchen and meals served quickly and warm, it was nice thanks to the team
