This place is a little hidden in a very small plaza. You will need slow down a lot to find this place. The place is clean and very Ma Pa. I can see many locals coming in out. My friend and I came here for dinner. It wasn't too busy and we both ordered black mole tamale. I was excited to try it because I saw Mark Weins had tried authentic Black Mole in Oaxaca and it looked amazing. The mole is very dark and it tasted very rich tasty. I added a little salsa on top and it was even better. The tamale wasn't bad. The corn and meat inside was fresh and moist. We also tried the Chilacayota drink and it was refreshing not too sweet. They also serve hand made tortillas which is always a bonus.
The Enchiladas Campesinas were slathered in their mild, flavorful tomatillo sauce. Being raised in SoCali and used to our style of food, these flavors were surprising. The sides were filling, but the plate didn 't leave you with any heavy feeling. Cool small place with a laid back local feel. The pic of my half demolished plate shows how much I enjoyed it. The plate was empty at the end of the meal.
