La Renaissance - Fumel

We returned here for lunch, this time with a vegan in tow and a young child. The waitress understood the vegan options, although it ended as salad and chips, and the children's menu was excellent. As usual, the buffet was excellent. Our main meals were also good, fish and chips! Good value.

This restaurant is hidden from the beaten path in the inconceivable Brit Hotel in Fumel. It is worth looking for their fabulous lunch. All customers are French, including local workers, making an additional point for beginners. The service is a little haphazard because... the language barrier. Choose a main course from a limited menu and then grab the salad buffet, there is everything to try! The most important courses are also excellent. In case of a mistake, one of our parties did not get frits as desired and when this was pointed out that the cook produced enough excellent frites to feed us all. Staff and management are beautiful and try to give you as best as possible. I will return with the family in August to try out their vegan offers!

We were in the hotel, the hotel and restaurant appears outdated, but the restaurant was very good. The food was very good as the local wine. We seemed to be the only British food, the restaurant was full of local people, so we were able to practice our French.

We visited this restaurant because of the local cuisine. It is located in a hotel and looks really old-fashioned. The menu is a simple photocopy. All in all, we were a little suspicious. Big was our surprise about the quality of food. The starters and the deserts of the buffet were very good. The magret de canard au miel (with honey) was very well prepared. A visit is worthwhile. Also the price was very reasonable a complete menu for 28 euros and a children's menu for 9 euros (which includes both the starter and the desert buffet). The view over the pool into the Lot-Valley is great.

Nice restaurant with great views over the Lot valley. Large range of dining options from buffet to set menus. Food all prepared well and good vfm. Friendly and efficient service.
