Barreirinha Café - Funchal

Went here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Good value for money. Fab service. Nice place to eat. Not as squshed in as all the eateries just down the road. Worth walking the extra 5 minus to get to.

Took the long hike to this legendary bar, in blistering heat, but boy it was worth it. Friendly, helpful staff, great beer and delicious food the Mistura hot dog was an explosion of flavours). Reasonably priced too with fabulous views out to sea. What are you waiting for? Go.

Directly past the fortification is this street café with a large terrace area over the street. a few nights ago, it looked like it was roaring with young people. burger and burritos looked popular. friendly staff. € 1.60 for 0.3l coral.

Great place to see the sunset in funchal, excellent hamburger (picante, spicy) and dj music (fri, sat 6pm-12pm)! the place is often full of natives, which is also a good sign. testponcha!
