Gavião Novo - Funchal

Nicely presented restaurant in a pedestrian street. Very good attentive service and good reasonably priced seafood and wine.

Lovely food, excellent service, reasonable prices (given the location and quality of food). I would recommend it to anyone.

Found this street with many wonderful restaurants a little late in our stay in Madeira. Slightly changed our opinion of the town, which up to then seemed dead as a doornail! Food, service, wine, atmosphere, value for money all fantastic. Only thing missing a bit of background music !

Fantastic service and wonderful seafood in Funchal old town. I booked because of the high praise in the Lonely Planet guide and was not disappointed would go back again. Delicious food and wine on the menu from the vineyards of Madeira.

Personnel was amazing! But food was dissatisfying. We have ordered Cod and Prawn rice, and for 45 EUR there were no any big piece of fish, 4 Prawns and some shrimps. The rest of the pan was the only rice. Very disappointing and highly overpriced in my view( Their Lemonade was nice
