La Cantina Di Ciccillo - GAETA

Delicious food. We had the paella, was enough for two adults and one child. Great place, great staff, and the restaurant is beautiful.

The place was pleasent, in the historic area of Gaeta. We ordered tonnarelli with squid, three fish dishes, potateos side dishes and salad. We waited approx 70 minutes before any food reached our table. Once it arrived we were thoroughly unimpressed. The quality was barely passable: the prime ingredients were ok, but there was no attempt at combining these in any meaningful dish. The pasta was anonimous, the fish tasted of absolutely nothing, and the salad was poured from the bag straight onto the plate. The cherry on the cake was the price... Overpriced by a factor of 1.5, after having spent there about 2 hrs rolling our thumbs. Absolutely not recommend, look elsewhere.

Perfect place for fine dining with your partner or with friends. Amazing fish st affordable prices. Definitely recommended!

Truly cannot remember a worse meal in my life. We didn 't manage to finish a single dish, not even the sauteed broccoletti. Despite being a port town, the fish was very evidently not fresh at all. Every dish had uneven temperatures tepid/cold in some parts, scalding in others as is typical with food reheated in a microwave. When we pointed out that the fish in the soup didn 't look/taste fresh they became defensive and of course didn 't take it off the bill. On top of that, the prices are high and the space is super noisy as it is a cantina with no noise absorption on the walls or ceilings.

We where recommend this by our host. Our expectations was maybe to high. The place is great to sit. Also inside I guess. We had the ravioli with fish. Sorry. To dry. Like a gum. Tonno ok but the chicken was great. A good rosé saves us. WC. No parking.
