Ranken Noodle House - Gaithersburg

The atmosphere isn't great, but the service was wonderful, and the food amazing. Easily one of the best restaurants in the area, and one of the best soup places I've ever eaten.

Haven 't even had a chance to try the food but if their customer service is anything to go by I would avoid this place.Terrible takeout experience, only one person serving/fielding orders.After ordering online and being charged I got an email saying they didn 't approve the order. I had to call to confirm if they received the order and it took them a few minutes but they found the order.They never apologized/acknowledged missing the order but assured me it would be ready in 20 minutes possibly sooner and to call ahead to see if it was ready. I drove to pick up the order and after parking I called to see if the order was ready. Must have been 15 mins after my first call. A new person answered the phone. They had no idea about my order, eventually they were able to find my order in the system and assured me again that it should be ready within the next couple of minutes, it wasn 't.After waiting at the restaurant for another 10-15 minutes with no updates I decided it was enough. I asked them to refund my order. They canceled the order but were unable to confirm if it had been refunded and assured me it went through. I will now need to check my bank statement to make sure it went through.

Tried this place for the first time last Saturday. Wife and I got 2 cold beef udons take out. The noodles were served hot (not sure if they normally do this but cold udon should have noodles run in an ice bath) while the broth was cold, so it just resulted in a lukewarm udon. Service was also quite slow and portions were small. Don’t think I’ll be returning

Very authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. Staff was super friendly, believe I spoke with the owner and she was incredibly kind. I got spicy miso and it was VERY spicy, but also very flavorful. Would not recommend for novices to spice. Would recommend for spice lovers.

I love the food here, and I still haven’t even tried all of the menu. I once had a fantastic conversation with the owner, and she gave me some tasty desserts as well. The food is also incredibly authentic! I see myself coming here a LOT more!
