Dining on the deck, basking in the sun, and taking in the amazing views of the Mississippi River below while enjoying delicious food - it couldn't get any better. We were with friends, a group of four, and everyone agreed that the food was excellent.
I had lunch in the mountains and it was delicious. We dined outside and enjoyed the view of the trees and the Mississippi River. After lunch, we took a nice walk through the resort. The day was beautiful.
We were out here this weekend for a girl night, and the location of the resort was nice. Only far enough from the city to avoid the majority of tourists, and the views themselves were amazing. As long as the weather is beautiful, there are many activities at the hotel to fill a few hours each afternoon. The food was excellent, and I'll go back to eat! Now for the bad things: this place is seriously outdated. It was built before certain things were standardized by industry, so I don't try to disturb the lack of an elevator or the confusing layout. You're working on it, so I'm not going to lose stars, but if I had stayed longer, I would have asked for a refund and went somewhere else. My room was small and clean, but almost everything in it was somehow broken. Air conditioning didn't work, window is too big for its frame and the screen had been slit, the bathtub faucet was added dropwise and the toilet was just a tiny bit fucked through every time it was flushed, the refrigerator just came to life after we pulled out the chest of drawers and pulled all the plugs, the TV service always went in and out, and the door itself was too big for its jam, so you had to leave the neighbors. Also, as all others say, the hot tub and the sauna are closed, and were for a while. For the first two days of my three-day stay there were workers on the roof right in front of my window, and it was unpleasant for everyone. I wanted the sunlight and air circulation because my air conditioning didn't work (and no one came to check it, even though I reported it there on the first day), but leaving the window open meant to let the bugs in and give the builders a full look at what I did. I can go back sometime, but I'll give them a while to sort everything out first!
I was trying to give him a three, but the staff definitely did for the lack of things to do. Everything was closed because of rain. It means there is a children's area, there was a ski room that was not open in summer. I can't blame them for the rain, so no zip line or alpine slide. We got access to the minigolf and they offered us a variety of board games. The restaurant was clean and the food was very good. You must have had water problems in the hall to the pool. No whirlpool. The sauna was open. Stunning view. This is obviously a winter resort.
Indoor pool fun rides during summer clean rooms but old. The door to the bathroom wouldn?t close because the carpet and threshold was coming up. The sink facet in the bathroom leaked over the counter every time you used it the air conditioner unit was very very loud. Our room with a view was very nice but the lights for the slope was right in front of it and the snow makers are right next to the light so in winter that could be a noise and light issue. The resort has no elevator so the may be a big problem for some people. The pool was clean and warm it?s inside and is open till midnight a huge plus for adults!!! The sauna was nice it?s electric so not steam. The grounds are beautiful they have a place for a fire that overlooks a spectacular view! The restaurant has very little to offer but good prices on breakfast for a hotel. The employees are helpful and nice but hard to find outside the restaurant. It rained the last day and the only option for indoor activities is the pool. I?d like to have seen something more indoor activities on bad weather days as the roads flood below the resort making it difficult to get down into town during heavy weather. During the winter you may want a 4 wheel drive.
