Feedback gevenDrive-thru experience was less than stellar. Food was cold as if it was pre-cooked and as bland as a school play. Garbage littered the drive-thru. Our server was a rather uncouth and untolerable woman. Don't believe I'll be returning or recommending anyone to dine here.
Drive thru customer service is terrible. I had the window shut in my face while trying to ask for an extra side of cheese since the first one was basically empty (seems to be an issue with their portioning or lack there of). They also messed up the flavor of my shake (the shake was also too thick and only about half full of ice cream, the rest whip cream) and when I tried to tell the drive thru lady she AGAIN shut the window in my face and walked away. I’d spend your time and money elsewhere. I thought it got better after the kicked the last owners out but obviously not.
When we entered the restaurant, we were taken aback to find that we had to place our orders at a kiosk. There were no servers around and very few customers, which was surprising since it used to be bustling with activity. I enjoyed my burger; they now offer better pickles, and my meal was prepared fresh. However, my boyfriend’s dish was quite disappointing. His burger was almost bare of toppings, which was a letdown. Additionally, our shakes were not made correctly. Overall, it seems that Steak 'n Shake has lost its charm. I really feel for the small staff at this location; there were maybe three or four people, including the manager, and they seemed overwhelmed, which affected the quality of service typically expected at Steak 'n Shake.
The orders are consistently incorrect during lunch hours. However, the night shift is outstanding – they are attentive, friendly, and I've never had an issue with my order. It’s a pleasure to work with them! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend going during the day. The person taking drive-thru orders often makes mistakes, and you’ll find yourself waiting at the window for a long time, even if you were the only car in line for 15 minutes.
Our order was completely incorrect. When I called to address the issue, I was told it was DoorDash's fault, but when I asked for clarification, they hung up on me. The bag clearly had my order printed on it, but none of the sandwiches were correct. I requested a Diet Coke and sweet tea, and neither was included. Instead of onion rings, I received French fries. It’s hard to understand how Steak 'n Shake can disregard their responsibility in this situation. While I did receive a refund from DoorDash, Steak 'n Shake needs to acknowledge their errors. I will not be returning!
