Also shared a smoked meat sandwich....was ok, sliced way too thick and hard to chew. On the weekend we returned for eggs benny breakfast. It was good and not skimpy on the bacon. It was chilly and rainy and the wood stove certainly made it cozy and warm. Service friendly and accommodating.
I happened to be in Grand Central to hear a local band (Greg Gammon and the Galiano Boys) and decided to try a Hamburger. The 'Hippie Redneck Burger' jumped off the menu, as I couldn't imagine what would satisfy these diverse palates When Tessa presented my meal I was pleasantly surprised for the Hamburger included everything that would please both a Redneck or a Hippie. It was so good that I made a point of thanking Chef Rosa. If you are in the neighbourhood you won't be disappointed with this hamburger. The best that I have tasted on Galiano. Thanks to John, Tessa and Rosa (for taking time to create a winner), I'll be back.
This café has changed hands several times in the past, but the current owner has significantly improved the cuisine. The food is satisfying and delicious, making it a great spot for lunch or a coffee break. During the winter, a highly effective wood stove keeps the café cozy on chilly days. In the summer, patrons can enjoy the pleasant outdoor seating area.
Well, all I can say is that this place is the epitome of a roadside diner. Good food and lots of it.
Our family of four had a wonderful breakfast here. Food was cooked to perfection and the service was fast and very friendly. Nice cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, funky decor and great music. Definitely recommend.
