Benno's Cajun Seafood - Galveston

Order at the counter, food delivered to the table. Smooth and easy operation. Folks at the counter were pleasant and smiling, food runners the same. The food was wonderful. Gumbo, coleslaw, shrimp, oysters, French fries all perfectly prepared, served hot and fresh. The wait was not long even though they were very busy on a holiday weekend afternoon. Another bonus: The Ladies room was very clean.

I had shrimp and fried oysters fries and coleslaw. Friend had fried oysters, red boiled potatoes and coleslaw. He didn't care for oysters. Manager offered to bring out something else for him, but he declined.

It’s our first time trying Benno’s and highly recommended for you to stop by and try it. Food was very delicious-Cajun grill shrimp, Jambalaya, kids fried fish fingers you must try!The staff was so welcoming, friendly and attentive every single one of them. While we were eating we notice how they were cleaning ketchup bottles very detailed. Overall everything was amazing. ?????

I’m not sure why this place has 4 stars. The food is disgusting. We order the seafood platter. The fish was fried but was dripping with water as if it was fried frozen. My fried oysters were also very wet in the inside. The water from the seafood caused the fries to be soggy. My boyfriend ended up getting sick and throwing up. There is nothing Cajun about this place everything is bland.

This place has some great seafood. For someone who doesn't live on the coast, I appreciated the very tasty seafood. It's a nice place to come hang out. You order at a counter but they come to your table and will refill drinks etc. I was a bit unimpressed with some of the service. The counter ladies were not nice. I asked about the menu and the one was relatively rude. But the folk coming to the table for drink refills and such were super nice.
