The food is always good. The service is always friendly and polite. I do have an issue with the salt shakers that have rust on the lids. But other than that it's a good place to go for home cooked Mexican dishes.
I didn't at first like this place at all. Since they now have new owners and changed the name to: El Napolito 2 Grill it has improved tremendously. Old School decorated Mexican stone building shows its age, but gives character. Delicious crispy tacos, chicken in mole sauce, soups, etc. One thing I almost forgot to list is they had marvelous homemade French fries which you just almost never see anywhere anymore.
I have been to Galveston so many times and just found this place a few days ago. Food is delicious. The service is awesome. The gentleman that attended us was super friendly with my family. My daughter was undecided with 2 dishes. She finally selected the pork guiso but the waiter brought her a small plate of the chicken mole that she also wanted. That was very sweet of him. The chips are delicious. The Salsa that comes with it is not spicy and you must try. The food price is economical. We ordered 6 plates with drinks and spent less then $84. The flour tortillas are humongous. It’s like 2 in 1. It is homemade so you must try with some butter. Food was delicious. The have sodas, natural homemade drinks like horchata, tamarindo (my fav) and Mexican pop. This was our best meal at the island. One thing that I have to addressed are the restrooms. They are tinny and not handicapped appropriate. Other than that, everything else was awesome. This must be a stop whenever you are in the island.
Thia might have been authentic good, but I found it missing flavor. We did come at like 8pm during our vacation.
