I chose to sit at the bar and was handed a menu. Trying not to overindulge after a couple of weeks of traveling, I opted for a salmon roll and a tuna roll, each priced at just 11.80 euros. That's quite affordable for this San Francisco Bay Area native! When my order arrived, it was beautifully presented, and the sushi was fresh and straightforward. I had a great experience, and the staff were warm and welcoming. I would definitely return, especially at these prices! Review #67 of 100 for 2023.
The sushi here isn't the best; it doesn't really taste fresh. On the other hand, the tempura was fantastic, and the kara age chicken was very flavorful. To be fair, it’s quite affordable, with five pieces of sushi priced under €4. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's a decent option if you're just trying to satisfy a craving, but you'll likely still be left wanting authentic sushi.
The Japanese food and drinks here are excellent. They offer a lovely selection of Japanese teas and bento boxes as well. This charming little Japanese café, located near the docks in Galway city, is a great spot to relax any time of year when you're in the area.
Really friendly and efficient staff. My sushi craving was definitely satisfied after enjoying the calamari maki and also organic Salmon maki. Sushi ginger isn't great though.
Purchased a €30 platter for 2 people earlier. To be honest, we dumped 80% of it and ordered a pizza afterwards. The staff were not helpful or informative at all and the sushi did not seem fresh in both taste and looks. The sushi boxes you can buy in Tesco actually tasted better.
