Feedback gevenThis is an old-style Japanese diner. In the evening, while other restaurants were closed, this place was still open. The dinner menu only consists of a few types of udon, soba, and donburi, priced between 750 and 850 yen. There is no English menu available. The interior of the restaurant is old but well-maintained, with clean tables and chopstick holders, giving a sense of cleanliness. The owner, an elderly lady, was working alone in the kitchen, and her daughter (also elderly ;) suddenly appeared from underground to help prepare the donburi and kayaku-udon while chatting with her mom. It reminded me of scenes from Hayao Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle." The donburi and udon both had a nostalgic taste, like a meal served at your grandparents' house. The donburi was delicious, but the portion might be small for men. The kayaku-udon had a variety of toppings such as scrambled eggs and mountain vegetables, which were also tasty.
This is a homey restaurant run by grandmothers. When I ordered the set meal, it came with about three small side dishes, and all of them were warm.
It feels like visiting a countryside grandmother's house. Nostalgic. The broth of the udon noodles is light.
